AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Maine State Legislature is back in session in Augusta.

On Tuesday morning, lawmakers went through the first procedural reading of a budget package that closes a $120 million dollar gap.

Legislators had until noon to submit amendments. Debate on the package is likely to begin Wednesday.

The Appropriations Committee came to an agreement on the plan last week.

Governor LePage has expressed his disapproval of the budget package, saying the MaineCare cuts aren't deep enough.
