BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Bangor apartment building that was once an eyesore that went into foreclosure, is now an energy efficient multi-unit housing complex for low income families.
The city of Bangor bought the Second Street building last year using federal grants through a program called the Neighborhood Stablization Program. The city rehabbed the building and then sold it to Penquis.
The building now has two 2-bedroom units and two 3-bedroom units. Two of the four units are currently rented, A third tenant will be moving in in a week or two and Penquis is currently interviewing for the fourth unit.
